I had a dream last night that the Germans invaded the U.S.! They came to Pittsburgh and were dropping bombs on the city and rolling tanks in. It was like World War II. I was part of a resistance cell of about eight guys. We built our own tank out of an old van and some sheet metal in an abandoned parking garage, making our own incendiary rounds for the gun. Then we all got in and rolled out... and there was a German Tiger tank with some troops! We fired at it but our guns didn't have much effect. They shot at us and the sheet metal armor only stopped some of the bullets. Then the tank swiveled its turrent around and BOOM! blew us all to kingdom come. In that weird way of dreams I was still alive, outside the tank, and could look in and see the charred remains of our little resistance cell. Farewell, my friends...

1. I was in a Fight Club kind of tournament. The interesting part was that when you won a fight in this club, you got to drink the soul of your opponent. Which was a Very Good Thing (tm).

2. Indiana Jones type delving into a tomb, found a room full of gold ingots. Divided them up among the team members, four each. Then I took them to a bank and had to fill out all kinds of paperwork to get them converted into money. It was frustrating, because the exchange rate was unclear, or kept changing or something.   [Y]

I dreamed that my sister was going to a horse show in Arizona and she only had one day to get there! She had to ride all the way there on her horse's back, so they galloped for a long time and the horse was very tired. But they couldn't stop because they had to cross this huge field of coal that caught on fire. The fire was catching up to them (it was like a grass fire) and so the poor horse had to run even faster, even though he was exhausted. Finally, my sister and her horse reached the outskirts of Arizona. Strangely, it was all green with trees and lawns and streams. The horse stopped to take a long drink. Then they went on to the horse show. Sis thought her horse would be too tired to compete in the horse show, but found out that their event (which had a weird name that I can't remember exactly, but something to do with quarter horses) wasn't until 2PM the next day so he had time to rest up.

Next day, the event was just riding in an arena with a few jumps. The horse sprouted wings at this point and literally flew over the jumps!!   [Y]

I had this dream last night that I was in my D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) campaign. We (the characters) were on this huge, magic seagoing ship that was powered by a big crystal globe. It has a control panel with all the controls labeld in Orcish. I'm not sure why it was Orcish. Anyway, we were playing around with the controls and somehow got the thing moving, then we fired some kind of cannon and blew up part of a city. I dunno why I had that dream... I play too many games I guess.   [Y]

I had a very interesting dream last night. It was somehow related to Pennsic (for those who don't know, it's a large SCA event/medieval fair/camping trip I attended just a couple weeks ago). I was living in a big old wooden house with a couple dozen of the Lost Boys, the group I camp with at Pennsic. It was the weekend, perhaps Friday or Saturday night. Anyway, we were all going out and around the city (I don't know what city it was!), and I was taking lots of antidepressents and stimulants to stay awake. We did a lot of stuff -- bar hopping, drinking running around the streets, visiting people, some of whom I didn't know. I don't remember a lot of the details, but I know it went on and on for a long time and I was having a ton of fun. Eventually all the drugs were wearing off and I realized it was like 6 AM and I had to get up for work in the morning, so I went back to the big ol' house I shared with all my friends and went to sleep on a couch.

Then I woke up in real life and went to work and wrote this. I'm glad my dream self is living such a wild life - it really helps me relax from the stresses of the day! I hope I have a few more like this one. LOL. -Chris   [Y]

[Jul 9th 2003, 03:53] >>> Last night I was driving my mom's van around Pittsburgh looking for parking. Mom was in the passenger seat. I tried one parking lot in Oakland but it was all filled up with people protesting the war in Iraq. So I left the city and started driving up a mountain road. There was like 2-3 feet of snow on the ground but the road was somewhat clear (it had been plowed). Still, it was slippery and treacherous! Eventually we got up to the top of the mountain and the parking lot hadn't been plowed out. I tried to get into the driveway and got the van stuck. During my efforts to free the van I lost control and flipped it over! Mom and I went tumbling but the van ended up right side up, somehow not damaged. So I gave up and tried to go back down the mountain, but it was too slippery and I lost control again and we went tumbing down the mountainside in the van. The whole way down I was cussing and saying "it's the middle of July there's not supposed to be all this snow on the ground!!!"

Then I dreamed I woke up in Mom and Dad's house. I was sleeping in the kitchen because we had some visitors or something. I got up and looked out the window and it was a bright sunny July day. The van was there, parked in front and not beat up at all; and there was only a tiny dusting of snow on the driveway. I looked at the clock and it was 10:00 and I realized I was horribly late for work. Then I looked down and realized I was naked in the kitchen with visitors in the house.

That's when I woke up for real.   [Y]

I was pretty sure I was going to get a good grade, when the prof told me he wanted my take-home exam, and I realized I hadn't even started working on it! He told me that if I didn't do it right now, I'd probably get a D or worse in the class! And then I pulled it out and the questions made no sense to me. I was totally lost.   [Y]

The game was at the old 3 Rivers Stadium (a stadium in Pittsburgh that was torn down some time ago). We parked under a big building downtown, though. When we went to the stadium the concession stands were huge... Hundreds of people selling popcorn and hot dogs and stuff. Then we went up to our seats. Somehow I got separated from R. and the girl and was watching the game. In the last inning all the Pirates needed to do was get this guy out, and they win. But there was some problem with the pitcher, so they got this big bazooka thing to shoot baseballs instead. It wasn't very accurate and the guy got 4 balls in a row and walked. Then the game was over and we were all going home. I went to find R... he was sitting someplace he couldn't even see the field!! I was arguing with him, saying 'why didn't you move down to where I was, you can't see anything here!' and I don't remember what he said... we left... We took some escalators down and I almost fell because the escalators were nearly vertical, and moving very fast! We lost the girl again, too. (I still don't remember who she was.) We got downstairs just as they were closing up the huge concession stand and for some reason we had to climb down the popcorn machines and glass cases to get to the parking garage. The parking fee was ridiculous -- $20.00! R. wanted to drive my car. He took off -- in reverse! I kept telling him to turn around or let me drive, but he insisted on going in reverse for several miles on the highway. We ended up missing our exit and going in a big circle, ending up back in the parking garage. The dream sort of faded out there...

My mom and I went out to dinner at a chinese restaurant. Then we hopped into a PAT bus (city transit) and she was driving it around my old neighborhood (Greenfield) at night. We ended up going down a really narrow road along a really steep cliff towards the highway. I noticed that we were entering on the exit ramp and we'd end up going the wrong way on the highway! I saw another bus coming up the ramp but it saw us and backed away. Also, for some reason my leg was sticking out the side of the bus and kept brushing against the cliff side. I asked mom to give us a little more room before my leg got rubbed off from the rocks and stuff. I asked her for just an inch or so, but she drove right off the road and the bus tumbled down the hill. Mom and I were thrown out of the bus. I went to her and she was lying face down on the ground. About this time my dad showed up and asked where the Chinese restaurant was. I told him and he wandered off to go eat dinner (he had missed it). Then the paramedics came and tried to revive my mom. She sat up and was just fine. The dream sort of faded away there...

Weird that I'm having dreams like this since I haven't been in school for quite a few years. Maybe it's symbolic of something.

Oh yeah... Now and then I dream I'm late for work; in fact I haven't been to work for several weeks and am sure that my job is gone. I must be subconsciously feeling insecure about something.

I much prefer my Star Trek dreams.

I have a lot of weird dreams, too. Like last night's star trek episode. Klingons invaded Pennsylvania! They came to Pittsburgh and killed lots of people and took some of my friends as prisoners. Then they were flying away through the mountains. I tried to head them off at some small town (I don't remember the name) where a guy had a big artillery gun to shoot at their ship with. He set it up and tried test firing it, but it wasn't shooting very far. The batteries were flat. So he changed them (they were little crystal looking things) and the gun worked! So the Klingons flew in and started blowing stuff up in the town and he shot at the Klingon ship and covered it with stinky pink goo. So the Klingons landed and told the townspeople to wash their spaceship! And the people told the Klingons they would do that only if they returned the prisoners. That's all...   [Y]

Hello. The idea for this site was born when I was talking with my family on our "babble board" and trying to figure out what to do with all the extra web space I had. Well, we have a certain thread on the babble board that's full of all the "crazy dreams of the night" we have. It's nine pages long and one of the oldest threads on the board, and still going strong. Then... inspiration... to take this show on the road!!!

YoungBeard: I have a ton of web space and unused bandwidth. Anyone interested in me setting up a "blog" site? That would be like a public web space for people to post whatever they wanted. Anything from book reviews to political rants to love notes for the world to see, or keep private, whatever you like. I'd probably use the software that runs g-blog.net.

SHASOD: what happened to the old one

YoungBeard: Nobody used it, and it had bugs. So I took it down.

GShefler: how about a crazy dream thingy?

YoungBeard: Interesting idea. But do we really want the public to view and comment on our crazy dreams?

Gshefler: I meant so that we could view and comment on their crazy dreams. Kinda like an advice column.

pazozie: Yeah! That sounds like fun doesn't it? Maybe I've been idle too long.
